Skills we will cover (or review):

Writing:
At the end of second grade the students are expected to: - write legibly in print - write in complete sentences using subject and predicate - accurately use punctuation and capital letters - write 7-8 sentences in paragraph form - use a variety of sentence beginnings. Students won't start sentences with "so" and "and" - write a letter with appropriate conventions Grammar/word study:
- verbs - adverbs - prepositions - nouns - pronouns - proper nouns - adjectives - prefixes - suffixes - word endings: ing and ed - time-order transition words - contractions - abbreviations - antonyms and syonyms |
